During the preceding period, the static study that was required for the restoration of both the Powder House and the Flour House at the Old Fortress was conducted and approved. Following the clearing works at the Powder House (the removal of cannons, architectural members etc) extensive earthmoving was carried out both inside and outside the building. In addition, loose and friable coatings were removed and modern constructions made of cement were demolished. At the Flour House the original stone paved floor was revealed and designed after removing the modern cement floor.
The open procedure concerning part of the restoration work at the aforementioned monuments as well as the restoration work at two other buildings in the Old Fortress (the staircase that connects Campana fort to the north part of the fortress and the outpost at the Campana fort) was carried out and the works are going to begin very soon.
Αs for the preparation of the permanent exhibition that is going to be housed in the Venetian Powder House, the museological-museographical study as well as the conservation of the exhibits were completed.
